THE REASON WE’RE HERE

A little less shame.
A place to begin.

We’re here to help people facing mental health and substance use concerns move through shame, doubt, and stigma, and find a next step toward real support.

You’re welcome here, even if you’re still finding the words for what you’re going through.

WHY THIS IS PERSONAL

Built from
lived experience.

Behind this site is someone who knows how hard the first step can feel.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

I know how hard it can be to reach out for help.

I’ve struggled with mental health and addiction throughout my life. I’m 11 years sober, and I know what it’s like to be stuck wondering if something is wrong.

That experience is part of why this site exists. I want people to have a place to check in with themselves, feel less alone in their questions, and find real support.

If you’re here because you’re unsure, ashamed, or struggling to ask for help, I hope this site makes that first step feel a little more possible.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

A few things we believe.

Your experience matters.

You don’t have to prove that you’re struggling, wait for a crisis, or reach a certain screening score to ask for support.

Clarity, at your pace.

Free, established screeners and plain explanations give you room to reflect. There’s no sign-up, and your answers and scores stay in your browser.

Room for your whole story.

Your history, circumstances, and goals belong in a conversation with a professional. A screen offers a starting point for that conversation.

Help you get to choose.

Explore care options, bring your results to a clinician, or come back when you’re ready. You decide what happens next.

A PRACTICAL PATH TO CARE

Understanding should lead somewhere.

Our free checks are available across the United States. After a check, you can explore support based on where you live, or go straight to care options whenever you’re ready.

In Kentucky and Indiana, our care partner Better Behavioral offers fully online visits anywhere in the state, plus in-person visits at its office locations. We also share independent national resources. You choose who to contact.

WHEN YOU’RE READY

One small step is enough to begin.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to ask for support.
