The people behind the site
Check My Mental Health is founded and run by behavioral health professionals with professional and lived experience. That experience shapes our focus on reducing shame, making mental health information easier to understand, and helping people connect with real support.
Built around a simple question
“Could this be what I’m experiencing?” is often where a search for help begins. Check My Mental Health brings screening tools, plain-language information, and practical support options together in one place.
Our goal is to help people across the United States understand what a screening result can mean and find a next step. Every interactive check is free. There is no sign-up and no payment required to see a result.
Our relationship with Better Behavioral
Check My Mental Health is being developed in partnership with Better Behavioral. Better Behavioral serves patients anywhere in Kentucky and Indiana fully online, with in-person visits also available at its office locations. We also provide independent resources for people nationwide.
The partnership supports the site’s referral model. It does not change instrument scoring or determine your clinical result. You are free to choose another provider, take no action, or return when you are ready.
Clear information, honest limits
We name the tools we use and link to their sources. We distinguish scored questionnaires from support guides. We do not describe screening as diagnosis, promise a prescription, or imply that a low score means you cannot benefit from support.
There’s no wrong time to ask for support.
